I’m 72 years old and was in high school during the late 60s and did learn gerunds. Truthfully, I believe we got a better education back then. That is one thing I like about the good and the beautiful is diagramming sentences, which has kind of fallen out favor. However, I think diagramming helps learn the parts of grammar much easier.

They actually did teach them in my curriculum, too. They were taught in my home high school childrens curriculum as well. With some things like that if you don't use it you loose it though. Public education has certainly declined. It's frightening, actually. Thankfully, home education is legal for the time being though.

I'm late to comment, but albeit worth saying this: Christian channels are not being promoted by any social media. It is the devil working against you. Not anything you are or are not doing. Ask subscribers to like, comment, and share. Also understanding the workload of family, perhaps more frequent videos of just throwing up the camera on day to day, real life. Just ideas. God bless you and your family! ❤❤

I almost NEVER see a 'return for my labors', but I have stopped looking for one. Because the return won't be here & now. And sometimes it is OTHERS that get my 'return' & I just am unaware. I have had a few very powerful insight moments recently with a stranger that I have befriended thru a charitable action....how MY actions have truly set things in motion for someone ELSE & how much it matters that I stay committed to certain activities that I do to help others. Every once in awhile I feel like God lifts the veil just a crack for me & it keeps me going! Nothing that I do is for me anyways...Everything I do should be to bring Glory to God in the Highest & Peace to His People on Earth. As long as I am doing that, then I am doing what God wants! Your videos really inspire me & give me ideas & fun. I love them! That is a return for your labors🥰 and then I take all of that & pass it on the next person and there is my return!

Too much crust?????????????? Whoever heard of such a thing🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wish I could find a way to make a pie that was JUST crust lol - I am the queen of pie crust! I cook alot like you; cook up things simple (like roast a turkey) and then have that as ingredients to make meals out of all week. It is the best way to ease up menu/meal prep, gives the best inspiration, & saves tons of $$$$. I can literally throw dinner together in less than 30 minutes most nights. My family knows its gonna be good when I loudly proclaim, "I'm inventin' tonight"! LOL I get messages from my friend regularly that are like dinner panic messages. I keep trying to impress upon her the need for leftovers & reinventing. Plus, cooking MORE than you need for one meal so that you have ingredients to work with on a busy night. I grew up this way, so I don't know any other way of cooking & really use it to my advantage on our busy homestead/farm. But most 'modern' women grew up with mothers that 'cooked' a different thing each night & the family either eats it all up (cuz there is only enough for 1 serving per person) or tosses the leftovers!

Thank you so much for this video. How true you are. Like you, I had many jobs working in the public before I married and had children. I am a homeschooler as well as a homesteader. I feel like being a mother and homemaker is the greatest thing I could do with my life. Yes, it is hard at times. But, of course the devil is right there deceiving women in thinking that being a mother/homemaker doesn't have much importance. So untrue. It is sad because this mindset is not only a deception in women who are not christians, but, that is how so many christian women think. I have many women in my own family who fall into that category and I have watched through the years how their family and marriage fell apart. Their children are grown and not serving the Lord. I am thankful that you are addressing this issue...God bless you and keep up the good work...Sherri-Payette Idaho

Its me again. ..We are so excited because for the past few years, we have had our own calves born from our cows and this year and a few weeks ago, we sold 2 bulls that were born last summer and we finally made money off our farm...Halleluijah...My husband and son built a greenhouse for me Spring of 2023, so this past spring I started seeds and am trying to sell my plants on MarketPlace. Like you, I set the bar too high for myself at times, but, the Lord is helping me not to be so hard on myself and to take it a day at a time and do my best and He will do the rest...God bless you dear and thank you for your transparency. And btw, don't let the negative comments get to you. I feel ya on the stove 'issues', Shayla! We bought a new stove about 3 months ago. My requirements were; propane, ALL 4 burners the same size (for canning purposes), no digital anything, no clock, no light, no glass window in door, sturdy racks, no buttons & a pilot light that stays on all the time (meaning no electrical ignition). Well that turned out to be like finding a leprechaun. Basically, I wanted a duplicate of the oven that I purchased 20 years ago, just a new one. We searched for a long time. Because what I want is a super duper stripped down basic model it is impossible to find. everyone wants these gigantic, blackstone top, griddle cooking monsters and they are like $3500! I want function & durability & no frills. Well, it took 3 tries. every time my husband would go to pick up the stove it was smashed in inside the box. We finally gave up & got one that was dented where no one can see it, because I could not go any longer without a stove. It still doesn't have the functions I really want. It DOES have 4 burners the same size, no clock, no digital display or buttons, no light or glass pane. BUT, there is no more pilot light - you are forced to get electrical or battery ignition (we chose battery) which stinks because our power goes out....a lot! AND I use the pilot light for rising dough & making yogurt - so there goes that. The racks are flimsy & actually 'dump out' of the stove if you have a roaster on one. And now, the oven will NOT stay lit. I have to check it every 10 minutes & the flame keeps going out. My husband has tried everything (& he's a handy guy) and we have contacted the manufacturer. No dice. So to bake a loaf of bread that takes 20 minutes I am now up to an hour, because if I don't keep checking, the oven turns the flame off. We also bought a new fridge (same deal, wanted one that is absolutely no frills) & it freezes everything. I just CAN'T keep produce in it. And we had to buy a new washer & it sucks too (pardon my french) - it has a lid locking feature that I hate (my hubby has tried to disable it) & it fritzes out all the time & stops in the middle of the cycle & the digital part won't let you select anything. yOu have to unplug it & re plug it for it to get movin' .... we have spent a fortune in appliances these past 2 years & have been let down on all of them. I truly wish we were off grid & just learned to function without modern appliances, but my family is not on the same page. Well...gotta go check the oven now🤞

My parents are/were both Godly people. Dad worked 3 jobs as I was growing up so that we could have a better life than he had. Mom mostly stayed home until we were all in school, and then she worked as a substitute teacher. That way her hours would coincide with ours. I do believe I was lucky to grow up in such a home. Not judging anyone who chose a different lifestyle, as the Bible tells me to judge not, lest I also be judged. They had equal weight in important decision-making and Dad was not afraid to do "women's work" when it needed done. They shared the work that needed done, though Mom did most of the cooking and laundry since Dad spent so much time working. They were a great example of a loving, Godly marriage.

A little tip I have for hand soap is to a) make your own and b) use a foaming soap dispenser! With that foaming dispenser, you can dilute storebought soap by half and it comes out feeling... right. I don't like the feel of diluted soap. And of course, a homemade recipe can be difficult to blend enough, but the foaming dispenser improves the feel and mix somehow.

I have a mental hurdle about my fridges right now. We have two and normally I organize them weekly to take stock of what we need to use up but after a busy few weeks of hosting church home groups and basketball team dinners, I just can’t bring myself to organize the fridges. I’d rather be outside working with my plants. I have noticed that it actually makes me scatter brained in the kitchen! Like I can’t get meals on the table as easily because my brain just can’t make sense of what’s going on in the fridge. I’m sure I’ll find time eventually, but for now, I’m enjoying summer freedom from homeschool for a time before we get back to more routine. Thank you for the video! I always enjoy them!

I just stumbled onto your channel today. What a blessing you are to so many, I am sure. Hubby and I are in our mid 70's, have raised three great kids, all married, and have been blessed with 16 grandkids. We have five acres, two steers, two mini donkeys, a few chickens, and one fat cat named Bob. We have been eating what we grow and growing what we eat since moving here in 1981. At that time, we had no money, the farmhouse was a literal mess b/c it was old and we just kept plugging away at it day by day. My husband worked outside the home and then helped with things here. Over the years we have raised meat goats, dairy goats and hogs as well. Take heart friends. We eventually saved enough to start working on the house and did most of the work ourselves. We paid off our mortgage in our late 50's and so I know that can be done. We have a big garden every year......still. Our kids live closed by with their families and two of them live in town and our youngest son has a little homestead not far from us and he too, works outside the home. The others work as well but they all come back here to help when it is time to butcher and do the really hard things. They all reap the benefits of that and our youngest son has hogs on his little farm, so we all share in that endeavor as well. We aren't "rich" monetarily, but we are rich in the things that matter. We love God, our family and our community. We help people when we can and have a lot of friends. Our church family is such a blessing to us. There are so many things in life that God gives us every day that are worth so much more than the world thinks of as "riches". The sweet smile of a baby, a toddler giving you a hug with muddy hands and telling you they love you, a husband that tells you that you are beautiful and gives you a sweet kiss on the neck when coming home from work as you are at the stove finishing supper. All through my life, it's the everyday blessings that take my breath away and I cherish that. So, sweet Mama's and Daddy's out there, keep doing what you are doing and trust God with the details. He will never fail you and you and your life will be so full of joy! I chose joy every day. Be well. 😃

I just solved it by wearing ALL the same socks for myself so I never needed to mate them. At the time, it was the 'trend' for kids to wear mismatched ones on purpose. And my husband, well he is a different story. His socks MUST match because he has what he coined, "toe recognition". So he actually NUMBERS all of his socks and mates them based on age of purchase & how the ###s match up & which foot they go to. he takes care of all that nonsense, because I....just.can't..... I can literally throw any old thing on my feet, but him????.... LOL
